| Credit cards are very widely accepted in Moscow. Almost all restaurants, cafe's, supermarkets, hotels and larger retail stores will accept major credit cards (Visa Card, MastrCard and American Express). Generally there will be signage showing which cards are accepted for payment. Smaller shops may also accept credit cards, but it is wise to check with them first, to make sure that they do accept cards and which cards they will accept. When using credit cards in retail stores (as opposed to cafe's, hotels and restaurants) you are generally required to show identification, which for a traveller is your passport. |
